Default Hedgie puking and soft stool?

So for the past few weeks my hedgie Basil has been having soft stools, at the time I took no notice of them, for he has always had soft stools, and the vet was not concerned. Today however, I took him out and he had thrown up in his igloo, and peed too, which has never happened before. He ran around and ate and drank and seemed perfectly normal, I'm worried that he will become dehydrated, and that this may be a more serious problem than I thought.
Help please?

Take him to another vet ASAP your vet may not be noticing all the symptoms only just the stool. There is a vet list on HHC so please check it out! Soft stools and Throw Up arent okay, he may be normal now but i would check just to be on the safe side.

Good Luck!

Get Better Basil!!!!!

Soft Stools over such a long period should be a concern, depending on how soft are they slightly runny? What is the color? You say your vet wasn't worried did you bring in a sample for them to examine and they told you this?

Vomiting by hedgehogs is often from food getting stuck in the roof of their mouth or something and they try to remove it by vomiting, it could even be possibly they were just so stuffed that their body had to push back out I suppose, I am no expert on the matter and I know someone such as Nancy will be along to clearly state.

I would think at this point a vet visit is in order, keep an eye on your hedgehogs water intake and do the hydration test of a small pinch of skin see if it snaps back into place or kinda just slowly settles, slowly means they aren't fully hydrated.

Also if your vet still thinks somethings not wrong it might be time to get a second opinion.

I'd take him back to the vet or better yet to a different one. While occasional soft stool is usually nothing to worry about, it's been going on a bit too long and now with vomiting and peeing in bed, it sounds like he is ill.

How much is he eating each day?

Thanks so much everyone, I took him to the vet, a new one and we are still waiting for some test results, but they said it may have something to do with his food, so we changed it, and he is much much better, no more throw up, or soft stool.
Thanks again!
