Default prefers cooler temp.

I know that a hedgie's home should be around 75 degrees but how often do hedgies prefer cooler temperatures? The temp in her cage is usually around 70 degrees to 73 degrees and I know many of you would say that's too cold. However, Quinn seems to like it being cooler. I use to have the space heater on in the room where her cage is (not directly pointed at the cage) to make it warmer but I would find her sleeping outside of her hedgie bag on the plactic bottom (she would push all the bedding out of the way). Once I changed to fleece liners I find her sleeping in one of the tubes that lies on cool tile flooring. Is this normal? Also, summer is quickly approaching and I'm worried that if she doesn't like being to warm that it might bet too hot for her. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Some do like a bit cooler temps. The reason people say 75 is that is what the majority of hedgies seem to be most comfortable at but just like those who need it warmer than that, there are also some that prefer it cooler.

Igs likes it at 70 to 73, too. Any higher and he gets IRRITABLE, and won't wheel. He's so picky!

For some reason, every hedgehog I've ever had has liked cooler temperatures. I always keep my space heater close in case it gets a little too cool. They can be strange little critters sometimes, but you gotta love 'em though.
