No. They aren't good for hedgehogs, they wouldn't get very much air, they can get feet and quills stuck. Also it can completely stress them out as its like being trapped in somewhere thats so tiny.
Theres even huge debates on hamster wheels on if they are even safe hamsters !! Most people will use a rat ball for a hamster. But even they cant be in there for more than 30 mins some people say less.

Your honest better off not using a ball for your hedgehog.

I've ordered a songmics 16-cube diy plastic shoe rack, because it comes as just panels that you connect so I'm using it to section off a large area for Holly to make a room hedgehog safe to almost free roam. Its not as small as a playpen as you get the control of how big it is.
