Wood isn't really dangerous on their teeth, the main issue with wood is that if your hedgehog gets mites then you will have to throw out all wood items as the mites can live in them. Most hedgehogs don't bite objects a lot although some do.

With the toy posted above I would be more concerned with the rope part catching their nails.
