Hi! I have a two year old hedgie named Ozzie who eats a decent amount of food everynight. I feed her Spikes Delight and a cat food with mealworms sometimes as a treat. Attached are two pictures of her. Is she too skinny? Sorry for the bad quality, but keep in mind when she is stretched out and running her body goes in after her ribs and out at her hips, sort of like an hourglass (this is shown in the third pic of her running, sorry for the blur again)
From the pictures, in my opinion, she looks a little underweight. What is the fat percentage in the foods your feeding her? How often, and how many, mealworms does she get?
Is it ok if you can tell me if mine's too skinny too? My mom and gran keeps telling me he's fat and over weight, but since I asked how they look if they're obese, perfect and under weight, he seems to lean to the underweight side.
@theflyingfish she looks on the thinner side but it's hard to judge underweight just from the pictures. What's her weight in grams and what cat food do you feed her?
@OddDarkMatter91 He looks like he's about right to me. Not too fat, not too concave. What's his weight in grams?
My King Robert is a bit skinny and he's about 430g. He shouldn't go down further, but I'd say he's healthy. See if you can get a scale and try to see what your boy is. It's still hard to tell based on the pictures but I'd guess you should at least make sure to stay north of 400g.
Alright, thank you!
Oh I also read that if their feces is dark green, it means they are getting alot of rich food. Is this bad for them? Can it harm their intestines or organs?
I'm asking since I've seen my boy's feces has been dark green lately.
