The ink/dye in newspaper is not good for hedgehogs and it is always very cold when it gets wet so that is another thing that is not good.
You can switch straight over to fleece, she will adjust just fine.

I switched Norman over to fleece the day I brought him home. He seemed to enjoy having something fuzzy to walk and wasn't stacked over head-height. I left a shirt in his pen though so he had somewhere to hide that's nice and dark and to satisfy his burrowing habit (which he has since grown out of).
