Unhappy Hedgehog Bedding

I have read on numerous sites about hedgehog bedding and the pros and cons that go along with each. I'm still very unsure as to what type of bedding I should use. I won't be getting my Hedge for another 2 - 3 weeks but I would like to research as much as I can before the time comes. Can I get some advice and tips?

Most of us here will recommend fleece liners for your hedgie's cage. They are easy to clean (and it is so nice having something you can reuse vs buying bedding that gets soiled and thrown away), hygenic, warm and snuggly.... the list goes on and on. A double layer is best, so I just get fleece pieces big enough that when they're folded in half they fill the bottom of the cage. (for me, I have a 2x3 C&C cage, I get cuts of a yard and a quarter from the fabric store) Plus you can go crazy with colors and patterns!

Fleece liners are the best. They are cheaper (You only have to buy them once), and much cleaner. Shavings can have mites and are a lot dustier. Also, hedgehogs are allergic to cedar shaving so NEVER use that. You can wither just cut the fleece to the right size or order them from someone. I know many HHC members do.

And for the sake of all thia is holy, avoid CareFresh...dusty, messy, sticks to EVERYthing (except a fricking dustpan).

Fleece is awesome...I just buy fleece by the yard or even cheap dollar store blankets...cut 'em down, fold in half...toss in the wash twice a week.

No muss, no fuss.

Trust me on the CareFresh.
