4' × 3' × 3' is usually a suitable size as from what i read with most of the members here. DIY collapsible cages/enclosures are better though as you can customize everything inside. Hedgies are good climbers so the cage must be high enough

Four square feet is the minimum recommended amount, so that should work.
 The bigger, the better (to an extent - not all hedgies will use a much larger cage), but the main thing is having enough room to put all the accessories in & still have some room to move around the cage.

I'm thinking I'll just use a tub in the winter since it's easier to heat; my house is usually only 73 degrees. I'll switch to a much larger C&C cage in the summer.
