Default Could I keep 3 females in a multi level cage?

I am thinking to adopt another female hedgie, (I already have 2) and I would like to keep them together. So far I keep both of mine separately, but I want to get a multi level cage, like ferret nation, and keep them all together. Both of my hedgies are adopted adult, so it the 3rd one I am thinking to get.
I could really use an advise, because I want them all to be happy.

Thanks !!

I would not house them together.
Imo with your situation it will not work housing them together.

I have no experience with housing multiple hedgies, but, from what I've read.......

You'll need to take a good long time(few months) for supervised playtime.

Need 3 sets of everything...3 wheels, 3 food bowls, at least 2 water bowls, 3 igloos, etc etc.

All 3 females should be around the same age and all healthy. Recently, someone here had her older hedgie die due to the other female in the cage(fighting, and chewed the ear completely off), the older one was starting to get WHS and was unable to run away. So if any of your females are weaker in any way, I would advise to separate.

Be ready for them not wanting to bond and get along. Or 2 of them bond and pick on the 3rd.

Don't forget, if one gets sick with something like a cold or mites, they will all get it, or they will all need to be treated as well, whether they show symptoms or not.

IMO I would house them separately, but allow supervised playtime, as long as they all got along well.

Personally, it sounds like a bad idea from all of the stories I have heard about housing hedgehogs together, it's not something I would take a chance with.

It depends on how well they get along. You would need to do long introductions and playtimes together and watch for any signs of aggression, quill chewing etc. Three wheels and 3 beds are a must. Age doesn't matter so much as long as they are all healthy and no mobility issues.

Keep in mind when housing them together you will still need to have separate cages in case they start to fight. Keep in mind that housing them together makes it impossible to monitor individual food intake and if someone is showing blood in their urine or messy poop, you won't know who until you separate them.

Cleaning a cage housing multiples is often more time consuming that cleaning separate cages and you have to do it more often.

I don't mean to change the subject but I've seen this a couple times in the responses so quick question.

What does IMO mean?

Thank you all for your helpful advises! I like Ferret Nation cage
( http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... Id=3402796 ) because it is like 2 cages connected you can close the door between them at any time. And of course I would have a 3 sets of everything. Well, I am still thinking about it. I want them to have lots of room to play around.
