Default Your opinions on a critter nation cage

Hello!
I recently lost my old hedgehog, Basil, and I would dearly love to get a baby. Basil's cage was a 18" x 37" guinea pig cage. (plastic bottom, wire top.) I am concerned that a baby could fit through the 1" gaps in the bars, and that more floorspace would be appreciated.

I know that lots of you have critter nations, what are the pros and cons? The big doors and smaller wire spacing is definitely appealing.

We use the Ferret nation cages that are like the Critter nation except the bars are
going the other direction.
LOVE the cages, they are super easy to clean, plenty of room for the Carolina Storm wheels, love the upper floor as well.
If you add a barrier to the upper floor so they don't fall it makes the cage very roomy.
Hope this helps :P

Nation Cages are amazing and they are then only cages I'm going to buy from now on

I have a single level Ferret Nation that is split into two levels and houses two hedgehogs, each with plenty of room.

I've had Clark, who was on the small/skinny side when I got him, since he was 9 weeks old (he was too small to go home at 8 weeks) and he has never been able to squeeze through the bars in the Ferret Nation. I like the Ferret Nation because it prevents climbing.

With both the Ferret and Critter Nations, walls can be created from coroplast or plexiglass and held on with zip-ties, to prevent either climbing or squeezing through bars.

If I was going to get a nation cage i'd go with the FN, just because the vertical bars curb climbing.

I love my FN! Also, FNs are usually cheaper than the CNs and the only difference is the bars.

Keep an eye out on ferret.com... some times they have $1 shipping which is what usually kills the price.
