Default Show me your cage please

I’m going to be most likely making (not buying) a new cage for Eggsy and I’m in need of some ideas for setup. Feel free to post a pic of your setup and any tips or specific things your hedge liles. I’ve been looking at different ones for a while and I figured I’d just ask on here. Right now Eggsy’s setup is pretty simple, just one level that has his food, litter box (that he doesn’t use &#x1f644, wheel, igloo, and log arch. I’ll most likely want to do two levels in the new one and I’ll probably use plexiglas sides.

There's over a hundred pages of cage examples in the stickied thread Cage Setup Examples, although a lot of the earlier pages have photobucket errors.

Be careful if you use plexiglass sides, because you need proper ventilation and just having an open top (similar to if you were using a fish tank/aquarium) doesn't provide proper air flow.

Pretty much the same as it stands now with the exception of different water and food bowls, and a cookie sheet litter tray that the wheel sits on.

snuffle, how do you keep the flannel clean? I use Carefresh right now and it’s ok but it gets everywhere. I’d like to switch to flannel but Eggsy isn’t well trained. And when he does use his litter box, he kicks all of the litter out.

Mines pretty good about using the litter tray / wheel, but the pieces she does kick out l, I just gather up and place them back in. It’s the yesterday’s news litter pellets so it’s easy to do. Then I spot clean any messes her poopy feet leave with a damp rag. That’s the daily routine. I wash the fleece in the washing machine weekly. As a side note, I used to use paper towels. She was tearing them apart and that’s why I switched to the pellet litter. So far good results with it. I’ve also found that some of it finds its way on her wheel and kind of absorbs urine here and there on the actual wheel too.
