Is this vivarium too small?

I found my old vivarium which is 36" x 14.5" is that too small? Would the length be ok (36") if I made the width (14.5") wider?

You would have to make it about 30 inches wide if it was 36 inches long. You want a cage that is about 8 square feet.

It seems too small, also if the vivarium does not have adequate ventilation you will get moisture buildup (from pee) on the walls that turns into scum rather quickly. Hedgehogs have sensitive noses so trapping them in an un-ventilated cage would not be kind to them. No matter what you do, you will be surprised just how much hedgehogs move around, so fitting in a wheel is a must.

36 inch by 18 inch minimum mine always have 48 by 18 inch and playpen time each evening 😊

36x18 is way too small. The minimum is 8 sq ft.
