I think it all depends, really. It depends how much below 72 (or roughly 72) it is, if your hedgehog is asleep in their bed vs. running around, and how much your hedgehog can withstand. From what I understand, the "process of hibernation" starts immediately (in the various cases), but is possible to take an hour or so. But again, there are many factors that play into actually hibernating.
