That's not going to be appropriate for anything more than one night. You need to find a bigger cage ASAP. Do you have anything else prepared for him? What food are you feeding him? Do you have a heating set up for him? He needs to be kept at 73-78*F, and it needs to stay relatively steady. He also needs a wheel, one that's solid, without any cracks or openings in it.

If you're going to need time to get a bigger cage such as a large wire cage, a C&C cage, etc., then go to the store and get a plastic Sterilite tub, the largest one you can find. Generally you can get one that's 30-40 gallons, which would be better for a temporary living situation than such a small tank. When you get a long-term cage for your hedgehog, you need something that will be at least 4 square feet. If you want to stick with the tubs, you can get a second one & attach them with PVC pipe. Check out the Cage Examples thread in the Housing forum for more cage ideas.

He needs WAY more room as stated above. High quality cat food. And a whole lot more. PLEASE- for the sake of your new pet- do your research on this forum

This got to be a joke, right? I do hope this is a troll.

If not, I agree, get a proper setup ASAP. A hedgehog needs a cage with a minimum of 20 x 40 inches.

My 8 gram crested gecko lives in a bigger tank than that.
