Lightbulb Saying hi, questions, and pics of my hedgie!

Hello,

I am a new hedgehog owner (Mr. Bubbles ~10 weeks), but have worked with adult hedgies in a zoo.

My guy is a chocolate snowflake high white pinto (I think) since he has dark brown banded spines, and all white ones next to it, as well as his white blotches. I got him from a local pet store, whose manager breeds them. I have not seen coloring like his, but I got him for his personality- he was the most sociable one, and uncurled immediately.

Some questions:
What treats does your hedgies like? So far, mine has eaten banana, chicken, mealworms, waxworms, and crickets. He will not eat canned cat food, but will eat his own food if I soak it. He won't eat turkey or banana bread. He stole popcorn, and likes it (but I know it doesn't follow an insectivore diet).
What cage extras do you have? I have a wheel, litterbox, and igloo so far.
Is yours litter trained? I am attempting it with limited success

Pictures: (in the first pic he is quilling right now, so crabby)

So cute!

I noticed that Tiggles also has that blue rim around her eyes. Is that just a part of how hedgies are made?

Yes, many hedgehogs have a visible blue sclera.

They do look close! I think they call them Algerian when they have the line on their cheek, as yours does, and mine does not, at least I read that on some color chart

Also, from the pictures, it seems like my guy has more pure white individual spikes interspersed in his chocolate areas (maybe 25-30% of it or so), which is why I added snowflake. In horses at least, white hairs in their dark areas is called roaning and not considered part of the pinto pattern.

Question about your girl's spikes-

His chocolate ones go from chocolate to a light brown to a cream/off white in banding. If you hold them up against the white ones, they are definately off color. Does her do that as well? I thought they were supposed to just have one color with white.
