Default Doesn't want to be held

Am I doing something wrong with Popper? He doesn't want to held. He pops up, but most of the time his quills aren't sticking up, and he's not rolling himself up in a tight little ball. But if he doesn't get his way he does and will also make that cherkling(?) noise after a while. Should I let him have his way or is he just not a cuddler? I did notice he did that when he wanted a drink of water, that's not the case all the time. I thought he might be quilling cause he was born in Sept of 2010.

You're not doing anything wrong. Many hedgies will pop at our touch. It's just what they do. Don't take it personally.
Continue to spend time with him. Don't put him back in his cage when he pops at you, or else he will learn that when he pops, you will put him away & leave him alone & he will just continue to do it.

Just continue to be patient & gentle with him & keep spending time with him. That's very important if you want him to become familiar with you.
