Can anyone tell me if it matters if I get a ceramic heat emitter or an infrared cermamic heat emitter? Both list that they do not emit light just heat. I will be putting it on a ceramic clamp lamp (on a metal cage) plugged in to a thermostat.

Well there are a number of different wattages available. I would get either a 100 or a 150. As I look closer the ones that do not say it in the title do have it in the description though. So I am guessing they are all the same.

I did a bunch of google searching earlier today on ceramic heat emitter <vs> infrared ceramic heat emitters and yeah, far as I can tell from search results, they're all infrared, just depends on the company and how they name the project.
If the cage is huge, usually you'd try a 150 watt, not so huge, 100. Remember you need a thermostat to control the temperature so it shuts the CHE off when its warm enough and turns it on when the cage gets cold enough. You'll also want a 10 inch dome on the lamp, if you already got an 8 that's fine, 10 inch just helps spread the heat more.

I actually have not ordered anything yet. I am probably going to get the double ferrit nation or critter nation cage so big. I was planning on getting two of the 100W with the 10 inch domes and a thermostat to control both. Does that sound about right?
