light during daytime question

Hi all, did warn you that I would be annoying ! So, here goes....

With their needing light during the day, our cottage is quite dark, so wot would b ok as a substitute ?

Otherwise, have Milli out in her "play tray" as am calling it and she's emerged from her towel for a meal worm ... Mmmmmm crunchy ! Seems quite active just now!

I leave a light on in the room for my hedgies. A lamp would also be fine. The nice thing about a lamp is you could get a timer. You want 12-14 hours of light a day, & a timer is a great way not to have to worry about it.

You're not annoying! Those mealies are adictive! My Cholla gets to excited when we give him mealies - he makes purring & other happy sounds.

A lot of people use ordinary bulbs in ordinary desk lamps...many use a timer so it goes on/off at the same time every day and ensure 12 - 14 hours of 'daylight'.

That's exactly what I do. Lamp. Timer. Done. He has his light on a regular cycle and I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn on the light.

Have been leaving just the main light on during the day whilst I am at work, but shall buy a lamp on saturday and a timer so that we can all start to get a bit of a routine going !
