Question Hissing whilst being left alone in her cage! Is she ok?

About 15 minutes ago I heard a little hiss - ignored it, thought maybe she had bumped herself whilst moving in her sleep. But just now she hissed twice - and big proper hisses!

Her cage is in our living room and I'm sat here working on my computer as I have been all day, the television is off and nothing happened that could have possibly caused her to hiss! This is the first time she has done this sort of thing. (That I'm aware of)

I went over to her cage and lifted her blanket to see if she was ok - she wasn't pleased to see me and gave a little hiss whilst balling up. I went and grabbed a meal worm to put in front of her - which she ate straight away.

She is now 'digging' and moving about. She's normally fast asleep at this time of day.

I'm sure it's probably nothing to worry about, typing this has calmed me quite a bit - but has anyone else had this experience? Their little hoggie 'hissing' to themselves for no reason?

My best guess is that she was either dreaming about something that she didn't like or she accidentally poked herself with a quill. Rosie Mae sometimes hisses when she's alone in her igloo and usually it's because there are a few quills stuck to the inside of her snuggle bag. I wouldn't be worried if I were you, but then again I'm still fairly new to the mysterious world of hedgehogs.

Is there anything in her cage that might be biting her like a bug or spider?

If she was fast asleep then, it was probably a dream.

Did you move her blankets or "mess up" her cage? My Nara will huff if I stupidly move her blankies to the wrong place.
