Default Foot bath success!!

I always massage the poo off Priss's feet and today I actually got three toenails cut, too!

I tried scruffing her VERY tentatively and it didn't seem to bother her at all. I lifted her about three inches out of the water and held her for MAYBE a two count before putting her down, but she relaxed like a little bag of bones. Maybe she won't next time, but I am going to do this for a moment or two every bath to see how she reacts. I can see this being the easiest way to examine her if need be.

Thank you all for your great advice and ideas!

What exactly do you mean by "scruffing" her? Is it similar to scruffing a cat?

Our baby just came home a couple of days ago. We wipe his feet with a wet wipe solution from the breeder, but there is typically still some poop on his toes. I gave him a wading bath today, just enough to cover his feet, and he really didn't mind that at all and it got more of the stuff off.

Any other suggestions are welcome!!

Herbertsmommy - I think that's great and would keep doing it. This way, if you ever have to do a full bath, he will most likely enjoy it, rather than totally freaking out, like my hedgie. Sheesh.

Snarf HATES water: sink, tub, wet washcloth, etc...hates everything but his water dish. On my 10th attempt at a relaxing footbath, I put 1/2" water in one end of the bathtub (thinking since it's bigger, he won't panic and can easily get away from the water). He walked happily around the dry end of the tub, then got one toe wet and freaked out. You'd think I was bathing him in battery acid.
