Ceramic Heat Emitter For A Cage?

I finally have my ceramic heat emitter, but how should I set it up for a cage(not tank)? It says it could cause a fire.

What cage do you have? Most people have the CHE sitting on top of the wire on the cage, and it's completely safe. Remember to safely secure it (using the clamp lamp / zip ties.)

I had a bin that rests by my bed. The lamp and the CHE are both clamped to a wooden board that is a par of my bed. Both instruments are a safe distance apart, and neither is touching a piece of furniture, walls, plastic, etc that could catch fire.

Everyone is in a different situation. It might take some creativity to rig up the proper set up for your CHE. I think if you looking in the housing forum you should be able to find different examples of safe CHE setups.

It'll be tricky trying to place this, outside of the cage I'm assuming. Will anything melt? Is this cage good for my CHE?

That is what I have as well and the CHE has been on it and on since Sunday. It's not melted and the cage does not get hot to the touch nor has it discolored so I feel pretty safe. I am having trouble deciding where to best put the probe for optimum heat without getting her too warm or too cold.

I've not slept through the night in a week because I am getting up and down trying to get this right and I am slowly DYING....

That's the cage I had before building my C&C cage, and it was completely safe.
