Default Digging... dig dig dig...

So my li'l hedgie likes to dig. In the igloo she'll dig at the fleece blanket in there, along the ground and sometimes manage to pull up the liner and get under even with mugs anchoring the fleece around the cage. Am I missing something? I thought this was normal until I checked her Storm wheel and there were scratches where you can tell she was trying to dig ON the wheel too!? I haven't made a dig box yet but might do it soon... does anybody know if hedgies tend to dig less if they have a digbox??

In the playpen I have a flower pot for my hedgie to dig in.
I stuck with the ever so messy but very satisfying (for her) non clumping litter. She digs like a little maniac in it, throwing it everywhere, and then rolling in it like a dust bath. I had originally done a dig box for her but she kept knocking it over

editi to add: I did try the switch to papertowel for the litter pan & fleece for digging. Only to find a cranky hedgehog. I think there's a texture thing going on with the digging. Fleece just doesn't feel like dirt

Hercules is a digging machine. It didn't matter what type of bedding he was on, even though he's on liners now he still tries. He has a dig box full of fleece strips he loves to dig through, and sometimes he tries to dig under the paper towel under his wheel. I think it's pretty normal.

My hedgie is getting smarter and digging more. The last day or so it's been better, and it might have something to do with stuffing a LOT more fleece in her pigloo... still no digbox yet! I'm almost done my box of kleenex...
