Default a boy or a girl ?

Guys, tell me your opninion...

If you're about to have just one hedgehog, no intention to mate him/her. Which one do you prefer ? A male hedgie or female ? And why ?

Btw, is it okay not ever to mate a hedgie ?

I'm still newbie, so any of your answer can be a great additional info for me..

Regards,
Attem

Either sex is great and they never have to mate .

Aww, I love my little boy hedgie, even if he does have "boy time". I think both genders are great!

Hedgehogs do not differ in temperament between the sexes. Each hedgehog has its own personality. Some are super sweet and some are huffy butts.

Makes no difference what ever. Personality and temperament wise, you can't tell the difference.

I thought I would want a girl, but the breeder only had boys. Then the first one she brought out was Cholla. Love at first sight! Just like with my husband! I love him exactly the way he is & wouldn't want my little boy to be any other way. Basically - you will love whatever you have.

There is no difference, so whichever you like best! And no, it absolutely unnecessary to breed them.

I choose boys because I see posts about people having to spay the females if they start to have issues. I don't want the extra cost. Boys probably have issues as well, I just don't see them posted here as often as the girl issues.
