Default Power Outages Help

Currently where I am living we are having rolling power outages lasting between 1-2 hours and it is currently -33 degrees with the wind-chill outside. I have a snuggle safe pet heat pad prepared and in his cage along with fleece for burrowing and a large fleece blanket for sleeping under instead of his normal baby blankets. I am still overly concerned though as I am afraid it will go out as I sleep. What other precautions can I take to make sure Miyuki will be ok during the rolling outages?

Emergency Power Outage heating.

Try to wrap the cage so you can insulate it a bit.

I lost power for a week all last week with temps in the teens, i have a fire place so that helped a lot but the temp dropped a lot at night so most nights i had to take Juliet and put her in a snuggle sack and put her under the covers with me at night and kept her warm with my body heat, at night she was really good with not going anywhere and just sleeping. During the day i kept her with me during the day to make sure that she didn't go into hibernation and kept her warm
I wish you good luck! i know how scary it is with a Hedgie with no power.

I would be afraid that Idgie would wake up, crawl under the covers and fall off the edge of the bed. But I agree, body heat is great. Use it
