Can you sometimes put boys together to play?

So I dont plan on getting another hedgie anytime soon but I was just wondering if some boys like to "hang out" together lol.

I know that boys should not be housed together and can sometimes fight, but are there circumstances where some boys get along under observed "play time"?

You can try it. I have a few males that are fine with other males and then a few who will fight with any other male, and whose presence sometimes instigates the calm males to fight. There's no way of knowing which your male is until you try. Definitely don't leave them alone together and be prepared to separate fighting hedgehogs.

I have two boys and I've never been brave enough to allow them out together... but I do want to say that it hasn't been too difficult to spend enough time with both of them

Keeping in mind that hedgehogs are solitary animals, supervised playtime can be tried out to see how those individuals do with each other. If a problem comes up, be sure to separate them. An occasional hiss will happen here and there but if the hissing lasts longer than a couple of seconds, watch closely.

If you do have to separate them, you may want to use a plate to put between them (a paper plate will work fine) so that you aren't getting hurting from stiffened quills in battle mode.
