Default HELP!! Hedgie just hides in his hut even at night

I had my hedgie now for 3days. His room is between 22 and 23. He's not cold. He's eating fine as well but he won't leave his hut. Just to eat. I'm worried bout him. I touched him and he's not cold so he's not hibernating. He always has clean water too. What do I do? Should I be worried?

He could still be too cold without actually attempting hibernation. Less activity is one of the first signs that the temperature isn't quite warm enough. Try and get the temperature up a couple of degrees, to 24-25, and keep it steady around there - make sure it's not dropping lower at night, when he should be out and about.

Another possibility - what is his light schedule? They need 12-14 hours of light during the day, but many hedgehogs will be very picky about being active if there's any light at night. This can include laptop light, streetlights or moonlight from a window, nightlights, etc.

He could still be adjusting to his new surroundings and is a little bit spooked about everything. Is he eating regularly? Do you take him out in the evenings for some bonding time, so that he has a little bit of exercise?

If the lack of activity persists for a few more days, then yes, you should consult a vet!

Best of luck!
