Congrats on your new hedgie! If you have a old winter toque or a hedgie sack to have your hedgie in that should be fine. I drove 9 hours to get my hedgie home so 1-2 hours shouldn't be be too long. Good luck!!!

As long as it's a big pocket so she won't be squished. You want to make sure she can still breathe.

you may want to have a carrier or box with you just in case she decides she needs to explore.
Traveling cross country with my hedgies one of them decided to exit his travel container... thought he was gonna try and make a break for it in Oklahoma. broad daylight too.
so... just in case.

See if you can pick up any of those break'n'shake handwarmers (usually sold in sporting goods stores during fall/winter; if you live somewhere that gets seriously cold they might have them at gas stations).

Brand new to you, she might not like the pocket thing? It will be a big event for her. I would suggest some kind of box / container with some fleece or t-shirts or something. That will give her her own space, a place to hide, keep her warm . . . There could be a lot of stress pooping. You want to be over-prepared.

Yes 9hours. I was visiting family at the time so i picked up my hedgehog on the way back home. I would never drive 9 hours just for a hedgehog.
