Default Splat question

I remember reading somewhere that when hedgies get to warm they will stretch out or splat. My question is...will she come out of her igloo filled with fleece to do this? And should I keep less fleece in there when I know its going to be super warm?

I've only seen Reggie hot-splat outside of his igloo once, otherwise he usually comfy-splats on me or in my lap. You should make sure he can be a constant temperature another way, because removing the fleece can only do so much; regulating temperature is very important!!

When it gets super hot outside, I usually replace the fleece with old bandanas. They're thinner and I feel like they don't hold as much heat.

I am sure that if it gets too warm the hedgehog will remove some of the fleece themselves to keep cool.

My Clara will even move her cage liner aside to sleep on the crop last if she is too warm. She is very temp. sensitive and regardless of my efforts at temperature control, she always does what she wants anyways. Quite the personality, that one.
