Default Is my new hedgehog healthy?

I just brought home my new hedgehog and I want to make sure he's healthy, so I have a few questions!

Is it normal to have a sort of bald groove in between the forehead quills?
What's the deal with the multiple bumps on his underbelly? Is that anatomically correct? (Forgive my ignorance!)
His previous owner fed him cat kibble - is this the best diet?
Would you consider him "cinnamon" coloring?

Cat food is what most people feed their hedgies, but it depends on the crude values of things like protein and fat in the food. Generally, you want to have under 15% crude fat and about 30% crude protein.

From what I can see, yes! What a cutie!

Is that a second bump up closer to his head, or am I seeing things? I'm guessing that's what you're asking about? That isn't normal. It may just be pimply type things, but you might want to get him checked out by a vet. And while you're there the vet can do a wellness checkup to look over the rest of him.

And congrats on your baby! What's his name?

I'm seeing some small bumps that aren't normal so thought I'd use your photo and draw on it rather than trying to explain which I'm talking about. Other than his penis which is the large bump, the other 3 are not normal. His testicles are down below his penis and are the larger lumps.

I think his quills are too dark to be a cinnamon. I would say brown, but I am not good with colours.

I agree with Nancy about the bumps and his coloring. He also needs his hind nails clipped badly. Much too long. Congratulations on getting your baby and good luck. I'd recommend a wellness visit to an exotic vet clinic.
