Default Fatty Liver Disease prevention?

Hi! I've had my hedgehog, Reggie, for about 3 months and I noticed today that he was yellowing around his armpits and his butt areas. I know that it really is the color of his fur/skin because I had just given him a bath and he was totally clean. After researching, I saw that these are signs of obesity, which could lead to liver damage and death! I called the vet immediately, who told me she couldn't see me until a week from now. I am super worried and am already making dietary changes, but I was wondering how urgent this is. Should I take him to the emergency room? Is the yellowing sure signs of FLD? Could this be due to anything other than FLD?

Thanks in advance!

If you've only had your hedgehog three months, and that's a picture of your hedgehog in your signature, I'm willing to bet that obesity isn't the issue. Do you see fatty rolls under his armpits, or double chins, or an inability to roll up?

Thanks for the response! He rolls up just fine and doesn't seem to have a double chin or ham hocks.. What else could the yellowness be due to? I had just bathed him so his fur was clean.
