Exclamation Saucer Wheel!!! :) Please help.

HEllo!! (:

I am a new hedgie owner and I have a question about the potty training for my baby. He's been with me almost a week and a half now. I currently have him using some shaved bedding, but today I am going to Walmart to buy some fleece and make him liners. My major dilemma is, his potty. Most people put their litter pan under the wheel I read, but I have one of those saucer wheels, which he actually uses, in a funny way. He'll continuously run up and make it slide right down, and then run back up agan. I can tell he enjoys it. But my question is, there is no space under the wheel, sooooo... where do I put the pan?! And I'm going to make a homemade one, so what's the best type of "pan" to use? Is a low cute topoware container okay? I just want to get this done sooner cause he's still young and as soon as everything is put together he'll have more room and space to play, not that he doesn't already. It'll just be more comfortable for him I mean. PLEASE HELP! Thanks a heep. <3

I use a foil cookie sheet under my saucer wheels, and line it with a fleece pad.

Can I use papertowel? And would that mean he has to step over the potty pan to get to his wheel? Thank you though. I am definitely getting one asap. That's super convenient.

Oh yes you can use paper towels, and yes they step over the edge of the pan to get to the wheel. That's why I use a foil cookie sheet, they're low enough for any size hedgie to step into.

I use a paper towel under the wheel. I just remove it in the mornings and viola, clean cage! Luckily he only goes in and around his wheel so it's super easy to clean and once I put a new towel in, it doesn't smell bad either : )

I've heard a lot of people using paper towels, I never thought of foil paper but it sounds like it'd work.

Maybe plastic? Some people have the hard plastic to roll their chairs over, or i know people use lament, or even cut a plastic bag to the size you want and stick it under.
