Not really. Small animals tend not to have that level of recognition skill or the ability to be trained. But they can learn your scent and they will develop some sort a familiarity. If there are a couple other people around and I put Piglet in the living room, he knows who his momma is and he'll run right towards me.

Not really, the cage it their home base and for a prey animal that is where they will always go first for safety. BUT they do know their people! They will go to you in an open room, get comfortable with you, and come to you for safety if home is not avaliable.
