Post HELP! 3rd vet visit no answers.

What is this? She is 4 1/2 weeks old has had it on her since i could see her. It has peeled off, has a spot on her foot(looks different) and her foot is swollen, has one on her back foot and one on what would be her elbow(all fur is still on her elbow). I have been to 3 different vets, no answers. Any ideas? she is 1 of 5 babies, should I seperate her?

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with anything like that and have no answers for you. Your poor baby. I hope someone comes along soon that can help. Have you tried a different vet?

That's very strange that 3 different vets couldn't give you an answer. Did they even run any tests? I'd say go back one of them with a stool sample (even though it doesn't seem related, they may be able to get some info from it), and ask them to scrape off a sample from her mouth and test it. I'm surprised they didn't already do that.

I think you should separate her if you can. I've never seen anything like this and you can never be too careful. Give her lots of love and let us know how it goes.

They shouldn't be just dismissing you without answers. Is it growing? It looks to me like a tumor...can she eat ok? Its probably genetic I'd think but its better to seperate if you can just in case. Did they take a sample and biopsy it?? That should give them an answer if not at least eliminate many possibilities and narrow it down for you.

I wonder if that is scarring from mama attacking baby?

It looks like an infection to me, did the vet give you any antibiotics?

I had the first vet give me antibiotics, it didnt help. This one peels off and grows back, and its not in her mouth at all. It is very hard. . the ones on his feet are dark and are different than this one and they dont peel off and are very hard. The 1st and 2nd vet took scrapes of it and sent it in, they both said it would take a couple of weeks to ge tthe results. Do you think its ok to seperate her, she is eating a lot of solids.

Hopefully it won't take that long for the results. I would think 1 week at most. I think she should be separated for the safety of the others.

A few more questions:
Do you have any pictures of her feet?
Is there any discharge (plasma, pus, blood, etc.)?
Can you tell if it smells at all (without sniffing it up close)?
Is she active and behaving normally, and how is her appetite?

She is acting normal playing eating, I will get some pictures tonight. I just got home and the big scab on her face fell off and the ones on her feel are peeling off(of course I didnt think to get pictures) I will tonight. No smells, but today one of her ears was bleeding, like a scrape. I cleaned the cage really good(w/o changing stuff) and she and mom were eating right next to each other. I have another vet appointment on thursday morning, same vet office as 1st different "exotic" vet dr.

Ok, so went back to vet, same office different vet. She said the ringworm test came back negative but. She made me feel much better. She said she didnt think it was mites, but she gave her a shot for mites just in case. Re tested for ringworm even though she doesnt think thats what it is and gave me that nasty stuff to apply to her skin that everyone on the board says is bad and dont get in there eyes. And she put her on an antibiotic. She was honest and she she has no idea what it is but she is going to treat for all three and see what happens. Poor little baby is so freaked out, I am freaked out and spent $300 on little 5 weeker.
