Default Reporting a breeder?

I went to the vet for my hedgehog because she has had odd bowel movements for the 2 months I have had her. She had a bacterial and parasitic infection and the vet said she got it from when the breeder had her, not us. My mom talked to the breeder and she didn't seem too concerned about her other hedgehogs. I don't want other owners to be in this same situation if they buy a hedgehog from her. Should I report her on the hedgehog central breeder list?

I'm afraid that if you've just now gotten your hedgie to the vet to have a fecal done, there's no way your vet can guarantee that your hedgie had it when you first adopted him or her. Two months is a really long time for your hedgehog to have come across different bacteria. Most hedgehogs in their new homes will have nasty stress poop for the first few days or so, and there's a chance that your hedgehog could have been infected by something else before her stomach got settled down, making it look like she had it the whole time. I'm not saying that she didn't have the infection before you adopted her, but that you can't rule out her having picked it up after you brought her home, especially this far out.

I agree with what LizardGirl has said. Two months is too long after to be able to say the problem originated at the breeders. Within the first week or two, maybe even three, but not this long after.

If she's been having the issue since you got her, she should have been to the vet long ago.
