Default deeper water dish?

When would it be safe to use a deep water dish for a baby? Right now I'm using a heavy glass ashtray that is about 1/2" deep but I have a small ceramic dish that is 2" deep x 2.5" wide that I want to use instead.

I have a dish like that and when I used it Sonic would always tip it over. I would stick with a shallow bowl. my bowl I use is about a inch high and 4 or 5 inches wide.

I used the dish with bunny when I had her and my mom uses they same kind with most of her hedgies and none have tipped them over. I was more worried about drowning. The ash tray I use now evaporates overnight, I really need something better.

I have Hagen small animal dishes for my hoglet Clark

They are too heavy to tip over, too shallow to drown in, and deep enough so that he never runs out of water.
I think I use the medium size.
It comes in 3 colors: green, blue and pink.

If by baby you mean, post-weaning - no, they're not going to drown in a water bowl.

I do like that green dish, I'll have to try and find one. and yes, I meant post weaned. I suppose I should start calling him a hoglet instead of baby.
