Hey guys so basically my hedgehogs been ill so ive been taking lots of naps with her for the past month, i know you should be beware of sleeping with a hedgehog but i have not had problems as i dont move much in my sleep and i put her in her sleeping bag when we nap. well tonight i think i messed up, i woke up and i had rolled over and she was behind me, i took a 4 hour nap, i woke up confused and seemed to forgot she was sleeping with me and looked behind and she was there in the bag, so i was like oh ok, and i took her out of the bag the bag was all damp and she was bright red and damp, i assume was sweat, ithink i might have accidently had my back on her and she overheated due to my body heat and well no air circulation, i put ice pack under her sleeping bag and a cold bath, her stomachs a normal pink now and she seems fine i just am terrified idk what i did, im not sure if i was on top of her i suppose she was under the part of my back that is kinda curved so i managed not to crush her im just so confused and scared and never gonna nap with her again.

If your hedgehog has been sick, I would suggest taking her to a vet. Don't overcorrect for the mistake because hedgehogs can get cold easily, I would also suggest checking her for any injuries as well. I would say don't nap with her again and just give her lots of love at other times of the day.

hi! i took her to the vet twice in the past month and shes going again on tuesday this diagnostics finally. I was frightened for about a half hour after i woke up, she was really burning up, she was very hot, shes okay now, she went back to normal after a slightly cold bath and ice pack.

If you intend to continue sleeping with her, consider a hedge sized "bassinet" so she's protected from future incidents like this. You especially don't want her to fall off the bed or get stuck somewhere she shouldn't be. I do not recommend anything cold, even if they seem hot, you have to slowly regulate their temp. Too cold and they can die.
