Hi everyone!
My hedgehog recently turned a year old (I’ve had him for about 9 months) and he’s SUPER GRUMPY. He huffs whenever he’s being held. I need to give him a bathe and trim his toenails, but I can’t grab his feet and it’s hard to get him to un-ball. Any tips on how to get him into the bathe and toe trimming tips? Thanks!!! |

A bath is usually the easiest to distract them with. I usually pick Ali up with a hand around his midsection while bathing so all 4 feet are out at once and that works okay. He'll be too distracted by the feeling of the warm water on his spines to register that his feet are even being touched.
Just be careful if they move their feet around suddenly to avoid accidentally cutting the nail too close. Wait until those moments where they've stopped moving and go in for a quick snip.
