Default Lost our hedgie

Wed night we lost of dear hedgie, Pickles. She had cancer. Her vet found a hole in her upper mouth Monday & started her on meds. She was doing ok wed afternoon but by 9 pm I found her not doing well. We rushed her to emergency where she died shortly after arriving. She was almost 4. My son got her in 6th grade and he’s going into 11th. He is destroyed. Just broken. I don’t know how to help him. His whole life was this little hog. I can’t imagine him not being a hedgehog owner but I know it’s not now. Any advice is welcome. I just wanted to share with people who understand. This was a very special, sweet, friendly girl who brought joy to so many.

We are sorry to hear of your loss of a treasured member of your family. We too lost a member of ours this week. Our male dog did not come for his morning food wednesday and when we went looking for him found him curled up in his sleeping spot dead. He passed in his sleep at night. He was never sick and was only 5yrs old so it was a big shock.

I am so very sorry for the pain from the loss of beautiful Pickles.I do admire the compassion of your son who has seen his dear friend leave this world for another one. He is at such a tender age.

Belties, I am also truly sorry for the loss of your dog. The loss is always so unbelievably difficult.

Thank you both. I am sorry to hear about your pup as well. The hardest part of having pets. 💔
