What are you actually using it for ??

They can get their feet/nails caught in it. And I think some may try to eat it too.

It's for him to dig in. What else can I use then?

If you were just going to put a pile of string in the box, I would mostly be concerned with it tangling around his feet. If you were going to use the wool to make something tighter to put in the box then it shouldn’t be a problem. A lot of owners recommend fleece strips! They’re cheap, easy, and easy to clean.
Hope this helps 🙂

Wool or yarn isn't good to use for hedgehogs, their small nails will become snagged in it. You can use strips of cut up fleece fabric.

Hey! I don’t think that wool would be a good idea, especially since there’s artificial colours and can easily be eaten and get stuck in claws. You’re hedgie may choke on it since wool tends to fray a lot. Your hedgie will most likely try to eat it an that’s really bad for them. If I were you I’d find a different material your dig box.
Hope this helps!

Good luck!!!
