Default Is it ok to hold him like this?

When i play with hechy, i hold him like this(1st picture), but sometimes i hold him like in the 2nd picture. My question is, is it ok to hold him like in the second picture?

It depends on the hdeghog and how careful you are and how often you do. Some hedgehogs hate being held like in the 2nd pic because it scares them, where as others dont seem to mind.
The first one is a goodway too, you have to be alert if your standing up so that if they move you move your hands with them.

Tbh he moves a lot, so i’m afraid he’ll fall if i held him like the first pic when i stand up, so i try to hold him like the second pic when i stand up
Thank u~ ☺️

I just have Holly up my jumper, and use my arm to support her, she just sleeps there.

Some hedgies don’t mind their underside exposed, and if they don’t, it’s not a “bad” way to hold them. Christina would just end up curling around my fingers and probably start nipping at my fingers so I just cup her lol

Lmao Aj.t, Igor too! He doesn't like his underside exposed, and he'll curl and... Bite at my fingers. Nevermind nip.

Haha most are like that. Holly doesnt seem to mind that much depending how long its for.
Can always tell when she doesnt like it anymore because she will go to bit me or nip me a little bit.

To be honest I think the main thing of holding is how the hog feels most comfortable and safe. Thats really the only right way.
