Albino changing color
Hello, I have a cutie albino hedgie, but recently a patch of her skin changed a darker color, and over that patch her quills changed to where each quill has a stripe of a darker brown scone they have grown out. What is happening here? Is this maybe a rash or somehow a tan..? I have no clue but if you have any outlook please comment!

If she has banded quills, she wasn't an albino but a very white pinto who is developing more banded quills now.

Can Pintos also have red eyes?

Yes. Reverse pintos can have dark ruby red eyes.

That's interesting. I didn't know that. Thanks! My boy only has 2 quils on his body that has a brown tip. (He's an albino too) so I'm guessing alot of young pintos can get mistaken for albinos and sold at a lower price.

This is what she looks like! You can maybe see the color change in the second picture.

Definitely not an albino.

Its always fun to see how they can change when they grow into their adult color.

That's very interesting! She looks just like my albino hedgehog, but is a pinto!

I had a hamster who I thought was albino when he was a baby, but as he got older he developed a brown spot on his head. Genetics are neat. :)
