Default Hedgy is greasy!! Pls help!!

Today I stressed out when I saw my hedgehog had super dray skin (with flakes). So I panicked and got coconut oil and a syringe and put it on her. And now shes a bit greasy. I bathe her a few times so that the oil will come off. But it still looks greasy. Will she be fine? And what shampoo do you use thats very common worldwide and is the BEST for the hedgehogs?

A lot of people use Aveeno baby wash.
They do get a more shiney look to the quills after usings oils or givving baths.

I agree with the aveeno oatmeal baby wash. However, during the dry months I give Michi an actual oatmeal bath which seems to help better with her dry skin.

Try putting some rolled oats into an old sock or some cheese cloth & put it in a tub of warm water until the water is cloudy. Then, let your hedgie soak in it for a bit & pour some of the water over top then rinse with fresh water.

After I do this for Michi I usually use a little oil. Too much oil will make your hedgie greasy so only use a couple drops mainly in spots you know are prone to dryness.

I’ve noticed when I give Michi actual oatmeal baths I don’t have to moisturize her skin as often in the winter.
