Exclamation hoglets help!!

hi

my hedgehog had babies and i did not know she was pregnant as when i got her i never got told.

the babies are 1 week old today - however she keeps picking them in her mouth and running all over the cage with the and keeps dropping them all over the cage in different places. One of the babies she killed last night and now i am scared she is going to kill the other 4. The mother is also moving all around and i do not know what is going on or what to do.

please help as i am scared she is going to kill the other 4.

Hopefully an experienced breeder will be along shortly to advise. Have you changed anything in or around the cage?

What has changed in or around the cage? Have you been peeking at the babies? Cleaned or mov d anything in the cage? The only thing you can do now is to stay completely away from the cage, not even going in the room, except to feed and give water once a day. Make sure you have lights on in the room during the day and that it's dark at night.
