Default Hedgie not running on wheel

Hi everyone! I got a 10 month old hedgehog named pepper a week ago. The first few days after I got her she was running on her wheel quite a lot but now she isn’t running on it much if at all. Is there a way I can get her to start wheeling again or is it okay for her to not be running on her wheel as much now? Any advice would be great!

Is she quilling? Maybe she’s not comfortable enough right now to run.

Other factors: how’s her light and temperature? What’s her wheel? Maybe try tilting it a bit to in case the reason she’s not running is because it’s not her preferred configuration.

Are her nails too long? What kind of wheel do you have?

I keep the lights off at night for her and her temperature is around 73ish (with her heat lamp on) I don’t normally turn off her lamp unless it’s really warm in my house. Her nails are cut so I don’t think it’s that. As far as I can tell she’s not quilling so I’ll try to re adjust her wheel and see if that helps.

I’m not sure what type of wheel she has but it looks like a normal wheel.

Your baby is adjusting to their environment; a week isnt that long to become "comfortable". Give her some more time

Hows everything else with pepper? Socially speaking.

She’s doing really well with socializing. She’s very friendly and curious. She likes being around people quite a bit and she enjoys cuddling on my lap while I’m working on my computer.

Is she on a lighting schedule? For heat lamps it's best to have a thermostat to keep the temperature consistent. 73 degrees is a bit more of the colder side. 74-79 is a pretty good range to stay within. Remember that the temperature must be consistent and not fluctuating.
