Default funky quills! whats it from?

Hi all.
This little albino hedgehog started growing some weird quills. The quills at the back half of his body are normal whereas the quills at the front half of his body are all flat, loose and pointing backwards. I thought that it may be a problem with his skin, that it isnt able to make the quills erect. He rolls up into a ball and eats and walks normally. Any ideas on what this could be from?
Please excuse how dirty he is.

thanks

Awww... what a cute little guy.

I actually like the nice flat backward pointing quills - it typically means that hedgie is calm and relaxed.

Little man may just be learning to trust and is relaxing & tensing different parts of his body.

I'd give his quills a nice cleaning and encourage him to lay the rest of his quills flat rather than encourage him to get the flat ones to stand up

Give him extra snuggles and take plenty of pics... they grow up so fast!

Thanks for the reply.
Thing is the quills at the front have never been tensed, even when angry and curled up the quills are still soft.
The quills at the back are always up and crossed into eachother.
I dont think hes doing it voluntary as they are always like this(as in the pics).

He's absolutely gorgeous!! He just looks confused as if to say "hmmmm should I be relaxed, or should I be worried". Percy's quills did that a bit when he was younger.
