I use the aveeno powered kind, the one with oatmeal I heard we weren't supposed to use pet shampoos because they have too many things that aren't good for them?

I use target brand baby soap. Tear free and smells like a baby. I don't see any ill effects. Dog shampoo is actually too strong for hedgehogs in my opinion. Maybe a puppy shampoo?

Pet shampoos, in general, are too fragrant. Our little ones are very smell sensitive and some may throw a tantrum if they don't like the smell of something, like a small spaz trying to get it off them.

Whatever you chose, pick something that is minimally scented. A lot of people use aveeno oatmeal and their knock off/no name brands.

There are brands of pet shampoo that are unscented, probably a cat shampoo would be better than a dog shampoo but they are not really cheaper than shampoo for people so I don't see any advantage to buying them. Your hedgehog will not use much of it either and human stuff sometimes come in smaller sizes or sample sizes. I bought a normal size bottle of unscented aveno oatmeal body wash for Quigley and I still had most of the bottle left over after he died (2 years later).
