Default Hedgehog squealing/squeaking??

I have 2 female hedgehogs together, and I know they can often be territorial but they are mother and daughter. I'm currently awake at 6am because I'm in a panic that I can hear one of them squealing, and the other one making the common huffing sound like when they are uncomfortable. I got up to investigate, and the mama hedgehog (Agnes) was on the wheel, while her daughter (Ruby) was facing away from the wheel and they had both stopped dead. Neither of them have any signs of injury or distress, nor do they have any territorial problems (They both let each other eat at the bowl, sleep close together) So I am unclear on whether they are fighting or communicating? Or even if they're just being drama queens... I mainly want to know if they should be separated. Agnes is a year and 6 months, as where her daughter is a year. I do not know when hedgehogs become able to breed, as that seems very close to each other

It sounds like they were fighting over the wheel before you got up. Do you have two of everything in the cage? Two wheels, two sets of bowls two hides etc? How big is the cage? A cage for two hedgehogs needs to be a minimum of 8 square feet.

I would seriously consider separating them, even mom/daughter pairs often don't get along.

I can get them a few more things so that they don't feel the need to fight. I don't have a separate cage to split them up, so I may have to just give one up to make sure they don't have anymore issues. Which isn't ideal because I love them both, however it may be the right thing to do.
