Default Hedgehog Overheating?

This last week has been unbearably hot in my area (Milwaukee) and my poor Millie has definitely been in an overheating mode (drinking a lot, not sleeping, laying out completely flat on her belly). I've gotten her a personal fan and moved her to a cooler room, so for the most part, that problem has been solved. However, I cleaned out her cage and noticed that there was an excess number of quills in her bedding. She's definitely out of the quilling stage and it's not something that has happened before. Would this be due to her being distressed over the heat?

could the heat be drying her skin out? if so, dried skin can sometimes lead to lose of quills.

about how many did she lose? a little, or a lot?

I'm going to say she lost around 15 quills or so. Not a TON, but enough to where I was questioning it.
