I am so stressed

My Bf and I are getting our hedgehogs soon and I am freaking out. I am so stressed about missing something that is important that I am loosing sleep and i don't sleep good in the first place. We have the cage all done it is a three by two grids with 14in plexi glass sides. We have alot of fabric just have to make the liners. then we have the water bowls and food bowls. this weekend we are getting for sure all the heating supplies the Che's, the domes, the thermostat, and the thermometers. The wheels we are going to order the csw just not sure if we will this weekend. and food we are looking into. I want so badly to be a good hedgie parent but I can't shake the feeling that I am missing something.

The only thing I see missing is a place to sleep. A lot of people use the plastic igloos, though you could also use something like a shirt as well. Just something for them to crawl into and feel secure in while they sleep. Apart from that it looks like you have all of the essentials.

You seem to have all the basic stuff. You may want to put together a first aid kit. And you'll need some baby nail clippers to cut nails. :3

Breathe.
You have the basics down so if you are missing anything it won't be the end of the world. While yes they need specific care, this should still be an enjoyable experience. You should be losing sleep due to excitement and not stress!!! So take a deep breath and just relax. Basics are covered, any other tweaks can be made on the go.

Igloos are on our list to just forgot to type them also we have baby clippers thanks to my mom who works in labor and delivery HAHA she brought a nice pair home for us even has a lil light and magnifying attachment. We also have a light system just have to get the timer part but that is easy. The sleep loss is a mix of emotions excitement, nerves, and stress lol. I am super excited for our hedgehogs I cant wait till we can bring them home. right now the cage is being watched over by a stuffed hedgehog we have found in my parents toy collection for grandkids lol we stole it (with their knowledge) we are deviants.

Awww, I'm so happy for you! I remember getting so excited when I was preparing to bring my baby hedgehog home too. When I couldn't sleep at night I would read about hedgehogs, sew things for him or think of what I could make for him, buy for him, prepare for him It was a lot of fun and also very nerve-wracking.

I hope that you will have a wonderful time with you new hedgie. Don't get so stressed out! Just enjoy the ride.
