Default Hopeful future owner

Hey everybody! I'm looking to get my first hedgehog, hopefully in the near future. I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips? I know that:

-They need a cage at least 3'x3' that is well ventilated
-Ceramic food and water bowls so they don't tip over, and a water dish instead of bottle so they don't break teeth or get their tongue stuck, and because drinking from a bottle is an unnatural position
-They need a wheel at least 1' in diameter, so they don't outgrow it
-Fleece liners since wood shavings can harbor mites and cause respiratory issues, among other reasons
-An old T-shirt, igloo, or fleece bed thingy that they can burrow in and cuddle with
-They need to remain at temps between 75F&80F. (im a little confused on how to do this though)
-They are noctournal and shouldn't be woken up in the day
-They can be cuddly and loving but typically aren't
-They will at some point poke you, and it will hurt (lol)
-They should be fed a cat food high in protein, low in fat, with meal worms and non citrus fruits as treats. Cat food should be the main staple
-I'm aware of the seizure looking thing, annointing I think?, so I probably won't freak out. Probably lol

If there is anything else I should be aware of before bringing a hedgehog home, please share!

Oh and I'm downloading LizardGirl's book right now, I'm going to read that tonight

Looks like you got it all down pat. For heating we use CHE which are ceramic heat emitters that are usually sold in the reptile section of pet stores. It consists of a dome and light bulb. They only give heat and not light, so it keeps the temperature regulated but doesnt disturb their sleep schedules. Speaking of sleep schedules, you will want a light source connected to a timer set for 12-14 daily. Seeing as your'e reading LizardGirls book, that will give you all the info you could possibly need Great read, isnt it?

Haha, yeah, I was clicking around the general questions forum, and saw multiple people suggesting it. So I figured it was worth a read, and I'm working on it right now. It's really interesting and helpful
